Last weekend saw Erawan Thai Boxing travel to Ossett in Leeds area with two of our adult fighters, Daniel Richards and Sam Brown. Dan was up first against a fighter from Alan Burnley’s gym. After a 3 round competitive fight the decision was given to Dans opponent. Dan gave a good account of himself and really got into things by the end of the fight. 5 round fights are much better suited to Dan’s style and who knows maybe we would of seen a different outcome had there been an extra 2 rounds. Either way it was a good fight and decent performance. Dan got off to a flying start winning his first two fights in a good fashion.

Next up was Sam, taking on a decent fighter. Sam looked composed and calculated moving well, controlling the range and position before delivering spectacular head kick ending the fight in round 1.

Looking forward to having these two dedicated fighters matched as soon as possible. Well done both.

Tickets are NOW HERE for ROBBIE COLLINS next fight on the monster YOKKAO show at the Macron Stadium in Bolton. Robbie takes on Niall Brown who trains under Master Sken in an A – CLASS bout – FULL THAI RULES.

This fight has been matched at a heavier weight than Robbie usually competes – set @ 72kg rather than his usual 69kg limit. Robbie is training harder than ever for this and his next fight and we would like all the support possible for these tough matches. Yokkao Shows are the cream of Muay Thai Events.

This see’s Erawan Thai Boxing set to make yet ANOTHER appearance on the Worlds premier Muay Thai show. We have been lucky enough to have fighters on these shows since the first Yokkao event that hit the UK – Yokkao 8. This will be our 5th (6th had it not been for an injury) time taking part on this huge event. Another great testament supporting our track record of producing quality fighters.

This weekend is huge and offers a great atmosphere, its also worth noting that this event is back to being hosted on a SATURDAY. You can reserve your tickets via Steven at the Gym, Robbie direct or Robbies mam – Maxine. All via facebook messenger, telephone or in person.

Saturday February the 1oth saw TWO of ERAWAN’s young female fighters travel to Barnsley to make up the HEADLINING bouts on the prestigious YOKKAO next generation KIDS show – the biggest junior platform in the UK.

They both took on the best girls in Europe, if not World level opposition.

First up was ANYA CARTER who faced off against renowned Ellie Barker, multiple British, European and World Champion. Ellie is also a sponsored Yokkao fighter and has just been voted Junior fighter of the year. Both Anya and Ellie have met in their early days with Ellie taking the win, and since then Ellie has clocked up an impressive 50 fights with 42 wins against Anya’s 14 fights. Both girls weighed in exactly the same and we knew when taking the fight it was always going to be a tough one with the vast experience difference and Ellie being that bit older.

Ellie took the win via points, Anya gave a strong fight and didn’t look out of place with one of the deciding factors was Ellie’s forward style backing Anya up at times. Anya fought strong till the final bell and gave a more than credible account of herself proving what level she can mix it up at, with the right attitude, commitment & application, the sky is the limit for this girl.

Next up was KONNIE GRACE who took on a really experienced and composed DUTCH champion. Her opponent was due to fight elite junior – Jodie The Beast from Ireland, Konnie stepped up when the fight fell through. Konnie gave away a bit of weight and her opponent was a very tall girl meaning she caused Konnie problems keeping a longer range and was that bit too strong, heavy and tall when closing down with catching, sweeps and clinch.

Never the less she put on a classy performance and fought really well and again more than held her own against a top class international opponent, oh and she definitely entertained the crowd with her crazy little ways.

Overall the results were what was expected, two losses against two opponents who were tipped to win by most, but they shocked a few people that’s for sure and proved themselves as credible contenders against two of the best kids around.

Very happy with both of them, Happy with both results. We said at the beginning, as long as they make a good account of themselves at this level we would be very pleased with that. These two have loads of experience to catch up on and who knows what happens in the future.

If you would like to join Erawan Thai Boxing, please get in touch via our contacts page or by inbox on facebook. We have a solid track record of producing top fighters from scratch.

Erawan Thai Boxing are delighted to welcome Neil Gribbon to the team. Neil has a wealth of experience, excellent knowledge base and very experienced with regards to scoring criteria. Neil is also a great pad man and will be an excellent addition that will be great benefit to those wishing to compete. Its something we have discussed for a long time now, so its great to get things in place.

In addition to this, Erawan have also appointed Hayley Fox as assistant coach in general. Originally joining Erawan to train, she then started to teach the ladies only classes. However after discussing with Steven, has now agreed to help with the fighters in general, which again is great news for those wanting to compete, those that already compete and newer starters too.

“Im really happy with both of these coming on board, it puts Erawan in an even better position than previous and can only benefit everyone in the gym. There is some major things in the pipeline for the gym and things are about to come to fruition. Im looking forward to see how things develop over the coming months / year” – Steven Wright
